Meet the Team
My name is Rick Daman and I am the owner of Daman’s Strength Training. I opened Daman’s Strength Training in November of 2009. I took a chance and followed my passion. I remember being a young kid and buying Muscle Magizines because I was amazed at how big and strong these guys looked. I wanted to be the guy in the magazine so I started lifting weights in my basement. I had no idea what I was doing. All I knew was that when I hit the weights and cranked Stone Temple Pilots I felt great and was getting stronger. This lead me to join my first gym. I would walk downtown to a gym called Fitness World. Each day my dad would leave me $4 so I could workout. After a few months I finally joined the gym for 3 months. I finally felt I was apart of something. I played 3 sports when I was in school. Once I found the weight room I stopped playing baseball and basketball and focused on football.
I played football for Rochester High School. Rochester has always had a strong football program since the late 80′s and my friends and I wanted to be the next championship team. I loved everything about the family atmosphere, doing things as a TEAM and building . Our camaraderie . During our senior year our team won the 1998 State Championship going 15-0. This is when I really learned that in order to be successful you have to put in the time and effort. You have to be willing to sacrifice to be rewarded.
This is how I run my coaching facility. I coach the athletes to be successful, to understand the value to hard work and to learn to seperate themselves from what everyone else isn’t doing. I learned this through the coaches that I had as a young kid. I work to instill these same values in the athletes that train with us.
When I am not in the gym I enjoy mountain bike riding and hitting up the trials in the local parks where I live. I also enjoy coaching football at Rochester High School. I have coached at Rochester since 2005.
The gym is located at 398 6th street in Monaca, Pa. I have opened this gym to help change the style of training and help our young athletes learn the importance of proper weight training, nutrition and to learn about the little things such as accountability, discipline and self-determination.

Testimonial: Christine Sonson: Parent of Travis Sonson (Hopewell Wrestling)
Daman’s Strength Training provides the tools necessary to take your game to the next level. The dedication that Rick expects out of his members separates them from their competition. DST not only helps you get strong and healthy but stay strong and healthy with nutritional guidance and proper training technique. DST provides a culture that helps members clearly defines goals and achieve them with proper direction.
Travis has always been a stellar wrestler with a record to back it up! I watch him overtime develop a “big head” slack off on his training and dedication. Overtime this affected that stellar record as well as his self esteem. We took Travis to DST to give him the opportunity to help himself. The results thus far are more than we could have expected. Rick provides not only a great strength training program but a relationship with his “boys” that is supportive and challenging. Travis is gaining muscle and confidence and getting back to his old self! Thanks Rick!

If you or your child has the opportunity to be trained under Ricky, you can expect amazing results in the shortest time possible.
